Katia...
Your journal makes me miss my life as a street rat.
I'm considering hopping a train right now and travelling.
Havoc,
Where do you live?
It's a pretty cold time of year to start traveling.
When you said, "Your journal makes me miss my life as a street rat." - that's one of my dilemmas, you know.
I really don't want to encourage anyone to try this homeless lifestyle. it is TOUGH.
But it sounds like you've been out here already? If so, you know that.
Hey Katia,
amazing pix. reminds me some of my own teens and early twenties going on and off the streets in Rochester and Florida. I sure don't miss it but certainly learned a lot about life that has stuck with me over the yrs. also saw yr prop 8 protest pix...when will we find room for everyone? hope you get your book!
I recently came upon your blog and found it enlightening.
My daughter, who is 16, is drawn to these homeless kids and finds a certain kinship with them and frankly that scares me.
Last year, as well as this year, we will donate to your christmas dinner event and will do our best to help out in person as well.
These kids, though homeless, deserve our kindness not our pity.
I applaud your efforts to aid them as well as your motherly connection to them.
Good to see your new pictures, Katia. Beautiful, as always, and very touching. Thanks for paying attention to those to whom society too often closes its eyes!
I want to know where Oliver Twist is today!!
